Nap York is a wellness studio and brand curated with sustainability and philanthropy at its heart. Their mission is simple; 'to provide an oasis for New Yorker's to focus on cultivating wellness in body and mind; a quiet place to concentrate deliberately on yourself.'

Every aspect of wellness has been considered and communicated here from the interiors, menu, materials and services.

Nap York offer areas to refuel and recharge through napping, yoga, meditation or lounging in the cafe.

Below I am highlighting some of the key areas that make this brand approach effective in terms of communicating sustainability and wellbeing in business.

Wellness Building Design

A considered approach to construction.

From paint and faucets to flooring and lighting, Nap York extend their sustainable philosophy to the smallest details which helped them cut electric and water usage in half. The amount of waste produced during building was also measured as a reference for future projects.

Nourishment

A mindful menu.

Care is taken to ensure the menu at Nap York is organic and promotes wellbeing whilst also being mindful of where leftovers go afterwards.

Any unsold meals go to local non-profits and daily food scraps go to local farmers to be used as compost, supporting the Nap York philosophy that being green means more than just buying eco-friendly products.

At Nap York, we believe that being green means more than buying eco-friendly products. It is an unshakeable commitment to a sustainable lifestyle.

Relax

A place to recharge.

New Yorkers can hire private pods for power napping at a cost of $10 per half hour where they can rest at any time of the day and benefit from the latest in sleep surface technology.

Wellness is a key component to healthy living and is achieved by making mindful and self-directed choices. We believe that quality rest is essential for optimal wellness. The best ‘you’ is the one that’s well rested.

Materials

Investing in materials

Innovative materials play a big part in a business like Nap York.

In their commitment to cleanliness Nap York have partnered with Air Weave on all their mattresses to minimize dust, allergens and odour all whilst being sustainable.

Vegan leather also features as a mattress cover further supporting sustainability.

Final Thought

Nap York are a brand that are embracing sustainability from all angles to deliver a wellbeing experience that is founded on strong values.

There are obvious ways we can be green and sustainable but perhaps the single most important thing to sustain is our own personal energy.

It is easy to get caught up 'doing it all' and if brands like Nap York can make time out a tangible experience, like going to the gym, it could encourage companies and individuals to think more carefully about recharging time for their employees and themselves respectively.
