New Fabric Mood - SS18 - A Futuristic Woman

New Fabric Mood - SS18 - A Futuristic Woman

Today id like to share a new fabric mood with you, inspired by a past editorial from 'The New Issue' of I.D in which Karl Lagerfeld talked about the futuristic inspiration behind Fendi's light-as-a-feather collection.

It’s very 21st century, everything is hyperlinked. The 3D fur embroidery, the femininity and cutting-edge clothes - often rounded, geometrical, architectural - everything combines to create a spectacular set of incredibly contemporary images.
— Karl Largerfeld

I feel this editorial has become relevant again with current trends for technology driven lightness and in particular the Interfiliere body fashion focus on Ultra Lightness which you can read about here.

So below you can see the start of my fabric explorations where I look at the contrasting structures of calves leather, fluid silk chiffon and fine starched tulle, a fabric concept I feel will result in an architectural, clean aesthetic.
