Divine Heritage Tapestries at Burberry
Burberry looked to 20th-century designer and taste maker Nancy Lancaster for the SS17 collection, her bespoke interior and garden designs heavily influencing the patterning of the collection from jacquards through to print and even the runway carpet.
At Tactile Trends we particularly like the opulent shift dress in heritage fil coupé, a textile look reminiscent of antique tapestries but then updated with a graphic band of hand sewn sequins and beads.
The structure of the fabric is also key in giving fullness to bell sleeves and gathers for those period style silhouettes.
We believe this is a super wearable look, sure to spark off mainstream textile trends with botanical patterning and abstract and embellished camouflage looks.
